Opening in September 2009, the new £45 million Library at Queen's blends the best features of a traditional library with the latest technology to create a unique learning environment for our students.
The landmark building accommodates over 2,000 readers in a mixture of formal and informal spaces and will be home to over 1.5 million volumes of books. It will also provide significant numbers of PCs for student use and have wireless network facilities throughout.
Queen's accommodation is specifically designed to meet the needs of our students. The University offers postgraduate and mature students the choice of living in zoned accommodation blocks in Elms Village or Queen’s Houses. All accommodation provides students with a quiet place to live in the company of friendly, like-minded people.
Accommodation is competitively priced and offers great value for money. All rooms are priced inclusive of utility bills, cleaning and maintenance and come fully furnished including networked internet access*. Elms Village and Queen’s Houses are within walking distance of the main University buildings.

The recently refurbished Students' Union is at the hub of student life in the University. Its entertainment facilities include three first-class bars and the Mandela Hall, which regularly hosts major concerts and comedy, as well as showcasing local talent.
Located just across the road from the main University site, it’s also a great place to catch up with friends either in the coffee shops, the snooker room or “The Space”, a unique chill out zone.
Queen's has over 50 student sports clubs ranging from Canoeing to Sky-diving and over 60 classes and courses ranging from Hip Hop to Aqua Aerobics. With such an immense choice of activities available, Queen's Sport is guaranteed to offer something that interests you.
